Things Recruiters Don’t Want You To Know

If you’re considering working with a recruiter to fill your healthcare provider openings, make sure to ask them about the following important aspects of their process. Many recruiters take shortcuts which make it look like they’re being productive, but will actually slow down the process in the long run.

Information Gathering

Many recruiters will skip this step, or only ask for basic information such as schedule and compensation. At CHS Recruiting, we schedule an introductory phone call with every new client, so we can accurately describe your unique opportunity when speaking with candidates. We ask about the specifics of the opportunity, but also about your expectations, the organization, and culture.

Candidate Screening

Most recruiters will simply forward resumes to you without ever speaking with the candidate. This not only wastes your time, but also slows down the process by forcing you to review candidates who aren’t actually interested in the opportunity. We complete an extensive screening interview with each and every candidate before submitting only those candidates who are a good match.

Feedback

If a search isn’t producing candidates, a lot of recruiters will move onto the next project and leave your opportunity in limbo while you still need a provider. When a search isn’t performing to expectations, we assess the problem, figure out a solution, and present it to you for discussion. We never like to see a search go unfilled and, in most situations, a slight recalibration can make all the difference.

Flat Fees

Make sure to ask your recruiter about their fee structure. When a recruiter is receiving a percentage of the candidate's salary, it can be difficult to tell whose side your recruiter is on when it comes time to negotiate a starting salary. CHS Recruiting uses a flat fee structure so you can be confident in knowing that we are working for you when it comes to negotiating.

These are just a few of the ways we are different from your “typical” search firm. We always go the extra mile to make your recruiting experience as efficient and productive as possible!
